Due to the delays caused by the COVID-19 outbreak, it has now been confirmed that the first round of the 2020 Mazda MX5 Championship will be held at the Cadwell Park Circuit on the 1st-2nd of August.
Matt aims to start the season in the same way he ended it last year. An impressive display of driving at the iconic Silverstone circuit in the final round of the 2019 season easily secured three trips to the podium with a first and two-second place victories.
Matt could not be better placed for success in this opening round as his first ever outing at the tricky Cadwell Park, considered one of the most technical tracks in the UK, saw this up and coming young driver set the fastest lap and secure a 4th place finish in only his third ever senior race meeting.
Luff hopes to continue his assault on the championship when it moves to the Angelsey circuit in picturesque North Wales three weeks later. Although Luff has never visited this circuit before, having missed the round last year due to A level exams, he is banking on his ability to quickly master any technique needed to succeed in Anglesey during pre race day testing.
With the Championship at the midway point, round 3 moves to the Silverstone circuit on 12/13th September. Buoyed up by his successes at the track in October last year, Luff can sit on the grid with the confidence of knowing this is a track he has triumphed at before.
The final round of the season brings the Championship to Luff's 'home' circuit of Brands Hatch where he returns to the track that saw him score a Podium victory in his first-ever car race as a fresh faced 15 year old Ginetta Junior driver.
